How is the road from Kathmandu to Pokhara?

The road through Kathmandu is atrocious, but once you are out of the valley, it’s merely bad. Travel, on the whole, is quite slow because of all the heavy traffic but the views are gorgeous. Vast majority of roads in Nepal are barely passable. Chitwan probably the worst of the touristy roads.

How is the road to Nagarkot?

The road is passable but is in poor condition. In parts it is very poor but you had a standard sedan style car not a 4×4 and you still made it fine. Kathmandu Car Services would recommend doing as we did and hiring a good quality guide and driver.

Nagarkot is situated 30 kms east of Kathmandu. The drive to nagarkot is extremely safe as the road goes through villages throughout. The private sedan is the cheaper option and takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.
